Gin Rummy
2 players
A classic two-player card game where players aim to form sets and runs of cards in their hand. Players draw and discard cards, trying to arrange their hand into matching sets (three or four cards of the same rank) or runs (three or more consecutive cards of the same suit). The round ends when a player 'knocks' with 10 or fewer deadwood points, or goes 'gin' with zero deadwood. Score is based on the difference in deadwood between players.
Crazy Eights
2–6 players
The shedding game for two to six players. Match the top card's suit or rank to get rid of your hand; eights are wild and let you name the next suit. Draw when you're stuck, and be the first to play your last card. Points come from whatever your opponents are still holding — eights cost 50.
Hearts
4 players
The four-player trick-taking classic: avoid hearts (a point each) and the queen of spades (13), pass three cards before each hand, and if you're brave, take every point to shoot the moon and stick everyone else with 26. First to 100 loses; lowest score wins.
Spades
4 players, 2 teams
Partnership Spades for four: you and the player across from you bid how many tricks you'll take, spades always trump, and the score rewards making your contract exactly — overtricks pile up as bags, and ten bags cost a hundred. Bid nil to bet you'll take none. First partnership to 500 wins.
Solitaire
1 player
Klondike, the one everyone knows: build the four foundations up from the aces while you dig through seven columns built down in alternating colours. Draw one or three, undo freely, and pick up where you left off — every deal has a number you can share.
